Wilkes Women's Swimming Wins Six Events against FDU-Florham
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's swimming team won six of 14 events including both relays but visiting FDU-Florham claimed a 139-112 dual-meet victory over the Colonels on Saturday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley CYC.

The Colonels opened the meet by collecting 15 of the 17 possible points in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of
Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area),
Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville),
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove Area), and
Alexa Crossgrove (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) placed first with a time of 2:02.42 to earn 11 points.
Tricia Bartosh (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall),
Kyleigh Smeltzer (York, PA/Northeastern),
Deanna Wadzin (Sugar Notch, PA/Hanover Area), and
Julia Rostron (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) finished second to earn four more points with a time of 2:07.91.
Crossgrove provided the first individual event victory for Wilkes with a first place finish in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:07.05 to earn nine points.
Detweiler won the 100 Breaststroke coming to the wall in 1:17.79.
Keating picked up a victory in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:45.05.
The Colonels final individual victory was in the 100 Butterfly with Wadzin winning in 1:09.74.
The 200 Free Relay team of Bartosh,
Jessica Turnitza (Cumbola, PA/Pottsville Area), Kinard, and Crossgrove took first with a 1:48.52 to close the meet with 11 points.
Wilkes dropped to 3-6 on the season and 1-4 against Middle Atlantic Conference opponents.
The Colonels will compete in their final dual meet of the regular season on Saturday, February 1 hosting King's College at the Wyoming Valley CYC starting at 1:00 p.m.
