Crossgrove Sets 1000 Free Record in Wilkes Women's Swimming Meet against King's
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's swimming team hosted King's College at the Wyoming Valley CYC Saturday in the final dual meet of the 2019-20 season. The Monarchs defeated the Colonels 134-60 in the team score.

Alexa Crossgrove (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) set a new program record in winning the 1000 Freestyle race with a time of 11:29.94. Crossgrove also placed first in the 500 Freestyle event with a time of 5:35.85.
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove Area) captured the victory in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:14.00.
Tricia Bartosh (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) placed runner-up in the 100 Backstroke coming to the wall in 1:09.27.
The Colonels closed the meet with a second place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay as the team of
Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area),
Deanna Wadzin (Sugar Notch, PA/Hanover Area),
Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville), and Crossgrove swam a 1:50.43.
Wilkes dropped to 3-7 overall in dual meets this season and 1-5 against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) competition.
Julia Rostron (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) and
Kyleigh Smeltzer (York, PA/Northeastern) were recognized during a Senior Day ceremony.
The Colonels will return to the pool to swim at the 2020 MAC Championship from February 13-16 in York, Pa.
