Wilkes Men's Swimming Wins Four Events in 114-88 Loss to King's

WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's swimming team won four of 11 events when it hosted King's College at the Wyoming Valley CYC Saturday in the final dual meet of the 2019-20 season. The Monarchs defeated the Colonels 114-88 in the team score.

Joseph Antolick (Ringtown, PA/North Schuylkill) gave the Colonels their first victory when he swam a 22.81 in the 50 Freestyle.

Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship) won the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.64.

Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) was the final Colonel to earn an individual victory. His time of 53.89 in the 100 Butterfly also qualified him for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.

Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology) placed second in the 200 Freestyle race with a time of 1:55.90. He was also recognized for his career in the Navy and Gold during a Senior Day ceremony.

The team of Burda, Weatherby, Keith Nissen (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia), and Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) closed the meet with a victory in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:33.65 by a slim 0.05 seconds over the Monarchs top team.

The day began with the team of Antolick, Harloff, Burda, and Nissen placing second by 0.5 seconds to King's top team.

Wilkes dropped to 6-3 overall in dual meets this season and 3-2 against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) competition.

The Colonels will return to the pool to swim at the 2020 MAC Championship from February 13-16 in York, Pa.
