Wilkes Men's Swimming: 2020 MAC Championships Day 2
 
YORK, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team completed Day 2 action Friday at the 2020 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa. The Colonels racked up three more podium finishes and one new team record to up their point total to 317 and stand in seventh place after two days.

200 Freestyle Relay
Wilkes made history as the team of Joseph Antolick (Ringtown, PA/North Schuylkill), Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship), Keith Nissen (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia), and Nick Martino (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) placed fourth in the 200 Freestyle Relay to record the team's best relay finish at the MAC Championships since the program rebirth. The foursome recorded a time of 1:28.77, narrowly missing the team record time of 1:28.14, to earn a podium finish and 52 points.
 
The Colonels "B" Team also placed fourth in its group. The team of Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic), Tyler Weatherby (Sewell, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology), Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), and Timothy Sechler-Stone (Allentown, PA/Salisbury) earned 20 points with a time of 1:32.03.
 
400 Medley Relay
Wilkes earned another podium with an eighth-place finish from the team of Sechler-Stone, Harloff, Burda, and Antolick in the 400 Medley Relay with a new team record time of 3:39.13. They beat their own record set last season at the MAC Championships of 3:39.89. The podium earned Wilkes 44 team points.
 
The "B" Team of Jacob Wessner (Auburn, PA/Blue Mountain), Cameron Aspey (Dover, PA/Dover Area), Weatherby, and Martino placed eighth among B teams with a 3:52.20 to earn 12 points.
 
100 Butterfly
Five Colonels advanced to the Finals of the 100 Butterfly tonight led by Harloff. He placed eighth in the A Final to earn a podium finish with a time of 53.38 and 22 team points. Burda won the B Final with a time of 52.85 to place ninth overall and earn Wilkes another 20 points. Miller recorded a runner-up finish in the C Final, 18th overall, to earn seven points with a time of 54.70. Weatherby was sixth in the C Final, 22nd overall, to earn three points with a 55.95 and Martino was seventh in the same race, 23rd overall, to earn two points with a 57.18.
 
Harloff advanced to the A Final by finishing seventh in the morning prelims with a time of 53.24. Burda slotted into the B Final with a morning swim of 53.53, good for 12th. Miller in 21st and Martino in 22nd made the C Final with times of 55.56 and 55.72 respectively. Weatherby tied for 24th in the prelim with a 56.53 and then beat Joel Williams of King's College head-to-head in a swim-off with a time of 55.72 to earn the final spot in the C Final.
 
200 Freestyle
Antolick placed sixth in the B Final and 14th overall to earn Wilkes 13 points. He came to the wall with a time of 1:47.80. Antolick qualified for the B Final in 15th during the prelim as he finished in 1:48.02.
 
Other Prelims
Liam White (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas High School) bested his season-best in the 400 IM by over 12 seconds to finish with a time of 5:01.17.
 
In the 100 Butterfly Aspey finished with a 59.80 and Christian Mavus (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke) a 1:04.29 in the 39-swimmer field.
 
Weatherby placed 28th of 41 swimmers in the 200 Freestyle with a finish of 1:55.60.
 
Next Up
The Colonels will return to the pool at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) for Day 3 prelims of the 200 Butterfly, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, and the Finals of the 800 Freestyle. The night session at 6:00 p.m. will consist of the finals for the 200 Fly, 100 Back, and 100 Breast, along with the 800 Freestyle Relay.
