WILKES-BARRE – Trailing 2-0 in the first, the Wilkes University women's hockey team scored four consecutive goals, lead by Laurenne Fraser's (Salt Lake City, UT) two scores, to defeat visiting Lebanon Valley College at the Toyota SportsPlex on Sunday afternoon.

This is the first time in the second-year programs history earning points in consecutive games after finishing Saturday's contest against Chatham University with a 1-1 tie.

The Colonels improved to 3-7-1 in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) play and 4-12-1 overall.

Lebanon Valley opened the scoring at 5:26 of the first period with an even strength goal and added a second score at 8:03 on the power-play.

Erica Sheaffer (New Hartford, NY) cut the deficit to one at 8:56 of the first when she blasted a slap shot past Dutchmen goaltender Jill Moffat.

Fraser tied the score at 12:20 of the first period on the power-play when her shot from the left faceoff circle went over Moffat's shoulder into the net off the crossbar, assisted by Sheaffer.

Julie Patterson (Trenton, NJ) gave Wilkes its first lead with eight seconds remaining in the first with assists from Shauna Tubbs (Maumee, OH) and Kendall Castro (Killingworth, CT).

Fraser finished the scoring with four seconds remaining in the second period assisted by Sheaffer and Ashley Murry (Morgantown, PA).

Alexa Rango (Hopewell Junction, NY/) stopped 32 shots to earn her first career victory between the pipes. Moffat made six saves before being replaced at the start of the second period by Shelby Guinard, who made 23 saves on 24 shots.

Sheaffer finished with three points and a plus-two rating while Fraser also finished with a plus-two rating.

Wilkes returns to action on Friday when it will host Elmira College for a 5:00 p.m. UCHC game at the Toyota SportsPlex.
