Burda Ties Wilkes Men's Swimming 100 Fly Record at ECAC Championships
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Wilkes University men's swimming junior
Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) represented the team at the 2020 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Open Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday morning in the 100 Butterfly. Burda tied his own school record during preliminaries held at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Saturday Prelim Results
Burda placed 44th of 83 swimmers from all NCAA divisions in the 100 Butterfly by tying his own record time of 52.35 that he set last season at the 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships. The top-16 swimmers in the event moved to the finals Saturday night.
Burda bested his top season time in the event of 52.85 that he swam at the 2020 MAC Championships. He qualified for the ECAC Championships on February 1st when he swam a 53.89 in the 100 Fly in the Colonels meet against King's at the Wyoming Valley CYC.
He will return to the pool tomorrow (Sunday) at 9:00 a.m. to compete in the prelims of the 200 Butterfly.
