WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University women's swimming team is in eighth place out of 10 teams after night one of the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the Wyoming Catholic Youth Center. Friday night's session consisted of the 200 Medley Relay and the 1650 Freestyle.

The team of Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area), Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville), Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove Area), and Kara Foster (Brookville, PA/Brookville Jr. Sr.) placed eighth of 12 teams in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:09.70. The finish earned Wilkes 44 points which is the total the team stands after night one, good for eighth place currently.

Day two of the three day meet will continue tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
