WILKES-BARRE – The penalty-kill unit and the power-play made the difference as the No. 13 Wilkes University men's ice hockey team outlasted Arcadia University 4-2 in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC)action at the Toyota SportsPlex on Saturday evening. Arcadia responded at 8:54 of the first with an even-strength tally to tie the score as the first horn sounded to a 1-1 tie.

Phil Erickson (Eau Claire, WI/) put the Colonels back on top at 13:12 of the second with a helper from Devon Schell (Scarsdale, NY/) with Wilkes holding a 2-1 advantage through 40 minutes.

The Knights tied the score again at 2:32 of the third before Ben Stefanini (Framingham, MA/) put the Colonels ahead for good just 26 seconds later with a goal assisted by Tyson Araujo (Vineyard Haven, MA). Dylan Kuipers (Andover, NJ/) added an insurance goal on the powerplay at 12:20 of the third with assists from Taylor Brierley (East Grand Forks, MN) and Tyler Dill (South Lake Tahoe, CA/).

Michael Paterson-Jones (Baldwinsville, NY/) earned the win, stopping 23-of-25 shots. Fletcher Bolda stopped 41-of-45 shots that Wilkes put his way.
