Kinard's 100 Back Highlights Wilkes Women's Swimming at Diamond City Invitational Day Two
WILKES-BARRE, PA –
Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area) placed sixth in the 100 Backstroke for the Wilkes University women's swimming team during the evening session of day two of the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the Wyoming Catholic Youth Center. Saturday's action also consisted of a morning session.

In the morning session the team of
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove Area),
Kara Foster (Brookville, PA/Brookville Jr. Sr.),
Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville), and Kinard placed tenth of 14 teams in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:57.62 to earn 34 team points.
In the 200 IM Kinard finished ninth of 26 swimmers to earn the Colonels 20 points. She came to the wall in 2:26.60. In the same race, Keating placed 16th to earn 11 more points with a 2:34.15.
Kinard, Detweiler, Keating, and Foster finished tenth of 15 teams in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 4:49.31 which earned Wilkes 34 points.
The Colonels ranked tenth after the morning session with 143 total points.
Kinard's terrific swim in the 100 Backstroke of 1:04.31 placed her sixth in a field of 24 swimmers and earned Wilkes 24 points.
Also in the evening, Keating earned the Colonels seven points with a 1:10.86 in the 100 Butterfly and Detweiler also earned seven points with a 1:22.53 in the 100 Breaststroke.
Wilkes will head to the final session in tenth place with 181 total points.
The final day of the Diamond City Invitational is set for tomorrow morning with session four at 10:00 a.m.
