Wilkes Men's Swimming Places Seventh at Diamond City Invitational
WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team concluded action at the three-day Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the Wyoming Catholic Youth Center with session four on Sunday. The Colonels placed seventh of 10 teams with 570 total team points earned.

To conclude the invitational, the team of
Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship),
Keith Nissen (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia),
Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot), and
Jared Weyandt (Reading, PA/Exeter Township Senior) placed seventh of 17 teams in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The team earned 46 points with a time of 3:26.78. The team of
Daniel Micozzi (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst),
Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta),
Christian Mavus (Nanticoke, PA/Nanticoke), and
Mason Thrush (Carlisle, PA/Big Spring) earned 22 more points with a time of 3:42.91.
Harloff earned Wilkes 24 points with a sixth place finish out of 19 swimmers in the 200 Breaststroke as he came to the wall in 2:22.78. Micozzi was 14th in the race to earn 13 points as he went 2:33.96.
Weyandt earned a 17th place result in a field of 46 swimmers to garner nine points in the 100 Freestyle. He finished with a time of 51.67.
In the 200 Butterfly Miller earned the Colonels 22 points as he finished in 2:16.27.
Wilkes will return to action for the Misericordia Invitational on December 3rd and 4th at Dallas High School.
