Wilkes Women's Swimming Concludes Swims at Diamond City Invitational

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University women's swimming team concluded session four of the three-day Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the Wyoming Catholic Youth Center. The Colonels placed tenth of 10 teams with 278 total points.

The team concluded the session with a ninth place finish out of 14 teams in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The team of Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove Area), Kara Foster (Brookville, PA/Brookville Jr. Sr.), Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville), and Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area) finished in 4:25.53 to garner 40 points.

Kinard placed 11th of 20 swimmers in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:24.93. The swim earned Wilkes 16 points.

Keating came in sixth of 10 swimmers in the 200 Butterfly, finishing in 2:40.91 with 24 points.

Detweiler was tenth of 14 participants in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 3:05.28 as she accumulated 24 points.

Bridgewater College earned the team title over the three days with 1,534 points.

Wilkes will return to action for the Misericordia Invitational on December 3rd and 4th at Dallas High School.
