No. 5 Wilkes Women's Soccer Falls in MAC Freedom Semifinal
DALLAS, Pa. – The No. 5 Wilkes University women's soccer fell in the semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Tournament by a 5-0 final at top-seeded Misericordia University on Thursday evening. The Cougars are also ranked No. 4 in the current United Soccer Coaches Top 25.
The Colonels conclude the 2021 season with an 8-9-2 overall record.
Misericordia scored in the fifth, 25
th, 28
th, and 41
st minutes as it led 4-0 at halftime.
The Cougars wrapped up the scoring in the 65
th minute.
Hannah Landis (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) made 10 saves for Wilkes before exiting in the 80
th minute.
The Colonels outshot Misericordia 10-8 in the second half but they were unable to break through for the score.
