DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's swimming team completed Session 1 of the Cougar Splash Invitational on Friday evening hosted by Misericordia University.

The Colonels scored eight team points to rank sixth of the six teams competing.

The team of Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area), Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove Area), Kara Foster (Brookville, PA/Brookville Jr. Sr.), and Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville) placed ninth of 10 teams in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:57.43 to earn eight points.

Keating was 15th of 30 swimmers in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 27.58. Kinard was 15th of 21 swimmers in the 500 Freestyle as she finished with a time of 6:08.76.

Wilkes will return to the pool tomorrow for the final two sessions of the Cougar Splash Invitational with Session 2 slated for 9:00 a.m. and Session 3 set for a 5:30 p.m. start.
