WILKES-BARRE – Three power-play goals proved to be the difference as the Wilkes University women's ice hockey team fell by a 4-0 final in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) action from the Toyota SportsPlex on Saturday afternoon.

The Colonels dropped to 1-5-0 with the defeat.

Stevenson got on the board at 11:02 of the first with a power-play goal after Wilkes was assessed a minor for tripping, which is where the scoring stood after the initial 20 minutes.

The Mustangs added a second man-up tally at 7:40 of the second. Stevenson potted an even-strength goal at 10:31 of the second and collected a third power-play score at 19:09 of the second to finish the scoring.

Allyson Joly (Lincoln, RI) stopped 49-of-53 shots the Mustangs put on goal while Ainsley King turned away 12 shots for Stevenson.

Wilkes returns to the ice on Friday when it travels to SUNY Canton for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game.
