WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University Colonels competed in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Virtual Pentathlon this past Saturday.
 
The Colonels finished tenth out of the ten squads competing in the event with three points.  Each squad swam at their own facility and they exchanged and compiled their results with the other participating squads after the event.  Stevens finished first in the virtual meet with 659.5 points.

Senior Justin Burda (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) was the lone points-receiving swimmer for the Wilkes men.  He finished with a 58.20 in the 100 Butterfly, good for 22nd in the event and  for three points.

Sophomore Keith Nissen (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) was the top Colonel finisher with all five 100-yard events added together for an overall Pentathlon time.  He placed 41st of 66 swimmers with a combined time of 5:25.86.

Jonus Gurski of Misericordia was named King of the Pool with a time of 4:34.53.
 
The Colonels continue their 2021 season with another virtual meet next Saturday.  The Colonels will swim at the first of their two virtual duel meets of the year.
