Crossgrove Leads Wilkes Women's Swimming at MAC Coaches Choice Virtual Invitational
WILKES-BARRE – Sophomore
Alexa Crossgrove (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) registered three top-four finishes to lead the Wilkes University women's swimming team during the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Coaches Choice Virtual Invitational held Friday through Sunday. The Colonels swam on Saturday morning at the Wyoming Valley CYC.
Wilkes placed sixth of six team with 95 team points, just one behind Arcadia's 96. Misericordia won the team event with 381 points.

Crossgrove earned her best finish of second in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:49.32 in the field of seven swimmers to gather 13 points. The sophomore placed third out of 19 swimmers in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 57.49 to earn 12 points. She placed fourth in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 26.25 to earn 11 points in the 22-swimmer field.
Sophomore
Kalyn Lash (Dover, PA/Dover Area ) earned seven team points with a seventh-place finish out of 12 swimmers in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:23.54.
Sophomore
Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area) earned five points with an eighth-place finish out of 13 competitors in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 30.85. She also earned two points in the 200 IM with a time of 2:39.78.
Senior
Abby Keating (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove Area) earned the Colonels five points with an eighth-place finish out of 12 swimmers in the 50 Breaststroke with a time of 37.12.
Junior
Emilie Detweiler (Muncy, PA/Hughesville) led Wilkes in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:24.22 to earn the Colonels two points.
The team of Lash, Detweiler, Keating, and Crossgrove placed fourth of six teams in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:57.49 to earn 22 points.
The Colonels return to the pool Saturday for another MAC Virtual Meet.
