TUNKHANNOCK, PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team opened the 2021 spring schedule finishing in third place at a quad match hosted by Marywood University at the Stone Hedge Golf Course Sunday afternoon.
 
Wilkes finished with a combined score of 382 playing nine holes with rain playing a factor all day. The University of Scranton took home first place shooting a 332 while host Marywood finished second with a 358. King's rounded out the competition in fourth place shooting a 440.
 
Lauren Golden (Moosic, PA/Scranton Prep) led all Colonel scorers carding an 82. Sarah Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA/Northwest Area) shot an 84 while Gwen MacConnell (Great Bend, PA/Blue Ridge) (106) and Cassidy Taylor (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) (110) rounded out the scoring for Wilkes.
 
Scranton's Victoria Dowling took home medalist honors shooting a round-low78.
 
Wilkes returns to the course Saturday, April 10 when it competes in a tri-match at Wyoming Valley Country Club against host King's and Misericordia starting at 1:00 p.m.
