Wilkes Women's Golf Finishes First at Home Tri-Match
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team finished in first place at its home tri-match Saturday afternoon at Huntsville Golf Club.
The Colonels shot a combined 398 on way to first place. King's College finished second shooting a team score of 443 while Misericordia University placed third at 444.
Lauren Golden (Moosic, PA/Scranton Prep) topped all Colonels scorers and finished second overall carding an 88 on the Par 72 course.
Sarah Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA/Northwest Area) played her best round of the year shooting a 92 tied for third overall.
Gwen MacConnell (Great Bend, PA/Blue Ridge) finished with a 108 while
Cassidy Taylor (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) rounded out the Wilkes scorers with a 110.
Marissa Korea (Duryea, PA/Pittston Area) was the final finisher with a 146.
Madeline Wharton earned medalist honors with a round-low 80 for Misericordia. Paula Moon led King's with a 92 tying Sorber on the day.
It marked the final regular season match for Wilkes before the squad will compete at the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on May 1-2 at the Golden Oaks Golf Club.
