DALLAS, PA – Michael Sherrick (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area) led all Wilkes men's golfers finishing tied for the lead at +2 after round one of the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Men's Golf Championships Saturday afternoon at the Huntsville Golf Club.
 
As a team Wilkes finished tied for seventh after one round of play with a score of 366. Stevens Institute of Technology finished first with a team score of 300 while Arcadia University followed in second at 315.
 
Sherrick shot a personal-best 74 (+2) on the Par 72 course tying for the lead with Stevens' Gus Vickers.
 
Andrew Finke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford Twp.) followed carding an 87 (+15) while Michael Gurska (Revere, MA/The Rivers School) totaled a 95 (+23) on the day. Jay Gallagher (Reading, MA/Kents Hill School) and Zack Nesheiwat (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) rounded out the Colonel participants with scores of 110 and 113 respectively.
 
Round two begins tomorrow (Sunday) with the first grouping tee time set for 12:00 p.m.
