Wilkes Men's Golf Finishes 7th at 2021 MAC Freedom Championships; Sherrick Tied for Fourth Overall
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team finished in seventh place at the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championships Sunday afternoon at the Huntsville Golf Club.
The Colonels finished with a two-day team score of 730 (366/364).
Michael Sherrick (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area) led all Wilkes players finishing tied for fourth overall over the two-day tournament. After firing in a personal-best low 74 (+2) in round one Saturday, Sherrick followed that up with an 81 in round two for a two-day total of 155 (+11). For his fourth place finish, Sherrick earned First Team All-MAC Freedom honors.
Andrew Finke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford Twp.) followed in 17
th place with a two-day total of 167, firing in an 80 in round two.
Michael Gurska (Revere, MA/The Rivers School) finished 35
th overall (194) followed by
Jay Gallagher (Reading, MA/Kents Hill School) (40
th/214) and
Zack Nesheiwat (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) (41
st/223).
Stevens Institute of Technology won the team title with a score of 609. Arcadia finished second with a score of 632 while DeSales rounded out the top three with a score of 663.
