Wilkes Women's Golf Splits Tri-Match with Misericordia, King's
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team split a pair of matches while competing at a tri-match hosted by Misericordia University at the Irem Country Club Sunday afternoon.
Wilkes scored a 444-468 win over the host Cougars while falling 429-444 against cross-town rival King's College.
Sarah Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA/Northwest Area) finished second overall on the day shooting a 92.
Gwen MacConnell (Great Bend, PA/Blue Ridge) followed carding a 104 while
Cassidy Taylor (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) (116) and
Marissa Korea (Duryea, PA/Pittston Area) (132) rounded out the Colonel scorers at the event.
King's Paula Moon earned medalist honors shooting a round-low 89 on the afternoon.
Wilkes is back on the course next Saturday, September 18, when the Colonels compete in a quad match with King's, Marywood University and the University of Scranton at the Wyoming Valley Country Club starting at 2:00 p.m.
