DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country team placed third of four teams at the Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia on Saturday morning at Letterkenny Field.

Sixteen Colonels competed in the three-mile race that featured 51 total runners, including seven alumni runners from Misericordia. Wilkes scored 78 team points to finish behind Misericordia with 19 and King's with 58. Lycoming finished fourth with 94.

Junior Victoria Barlow (Ridge, NY/Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan) paced the Colonels, placing 15th overall with a time of 21:24.60. Junior Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) followed in 17th with a 21:30.60. First year Alyse Fay (Verona, PA/Oakland Catholic) took 22nd with a time of 22:16.70 and fellow first year Regan Metz (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) was 25th with a 22:43.80. Junior Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) rounded out the Colonels to figure into the team score as she placed 26th overall with a 22:44.20

Rounding out the remaining Colonel participants were Mia Hensil (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) (28th, 23:01.00), Abby Lewis (Troy, PA/Troy) (29th, 23:05.30), Courtney Negra (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) (30th, 23:06.80), Amy Agreda (Shelton, CT/Shelton) (32nd, 23:15.50), Mia Walker (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) (35th, 23:55.50), Abby Kuppinger (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) (37th, 24:54.50), Devon Catrambone (Glenmoore, PA/Downingtown East) (38th, 25:06.30), Audrey Mclaughlin (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley) (43rd, 26:06.00), Arianna Ryan (Brockton, PA/Tamaqua) (44th, 26:38.60), Alexa Boersma (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) (46th, 28:01.50), and Naomi Michel (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) (51st, 34:15.60).

Olivia Visaggio of Misericordia was the top finisher overall with a time of 18:52.30.

Wilkes returns to the course on Saturday, September 25 for the Dickinson Short-Long Invitational at Big Springs High School in Newville, Pa. at 11:15 a.m.
