First Half Goals Doom Wilkes Women's Soccer at Scranton
SCRANTON, Pa. – A three-goal deficit after the first half of play was too much to overcome as the Wilkes University women's soccer team fell to the University of Scranton, a team currently receiving national votes, by a 3-0 final on Tuesday evening.
The Colonels now stand at 1-5-0.
The Royals got on the board with goals in the ninth, 10
th, and 45
th minutes.
Hannah Landis (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) made three saves for Wilkes.
Emily Bidelspach (Myerstown, PA/ELCO) led the Colonels with three shot attempts while
Victoria Burkhart (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) added two shots.
Wilkes returns to the pitch on Sunday when it will travel to Penn College for a 12:00 p.m. non-conference game.
