Wilkes Women's Cross Country Opens Season at Misericordia Invitational
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country team opened the 2021 season at the Misericordia Invitational competing in a 4k race. The Colonels, who were represented by 16 of the 91 runners, placed fifth of six teams.

Ten Colonels made their race debuts for Wilkes while six others returned to the course for the first time in the Navy and Gold since the 2019 season.
Sara Ross (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) led Wilkes as the junior placed 25th with a time of 16:57.60. First-year
Reagan Metz (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) placed 37th with a 17:50.50 while junior newcomer
Victoria Barlow (Ridge, NY/Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan) was 42nd with a 18:06.30. Junior
Sydney Rochette (Colchester, CT/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering) came home 45th with a 18:15.60 and first-year
Alyse Fay (Verona, PA/Oakland Catholic) rounded out the five Colonels to score as she placed 50th with a time of 18:26.40. Wilkes accumulated 133 team points between the five runners.

Host Misericordia won the team event with 24 points while Kallan Carter of Susquehanna was the top finisher overall with a time of 15:22.80.
Wilkes returns to the course on Saturday, September 18 for the Cougar Classic, again hosted by Misericordia, as the team begins its 6k season.
