Wilkes Men's Golf Rises Past King's to Open 2021 Campaign
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's golf team opened its 2021 fall season with a 327-351 victory over cross-town rival King's College Wednesday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley Country Club.
Michael Sherrick (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area) shot a team-best 79 followed by
Andrew Finke's (West Milford, NJ/West Milford Twp.) 81 on the day.
Max Cocchi (Ludlow, MA/Tilton School) finished with an 82 while
Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) (85) and
Michael Gurska (Revere, MA/The Rivers School) (96) rounded out the Colonels finishers in the match.
Tyler Faux topped all players at the match scoring a round-low 78 on the afternoon for King's.
Wilkes returns to the course Saturday when the Colonels host the University of Scranton at 1:00 p.m. at Huntsville Golf Club.
