Wilkes Women's Soccer Falls in Overtime Thriller at William Paterson
WAYNE, NJ – A goal less than a minute into overtime ended a thrilling 1-0 non-conference contest as the Wilkes University women's soccer team was defeated by William Paterson University on Wednesday evening.
The Colonels now stand at 1-2 on the season.
Neither team was able to get on the board through the first 45 minutes, with Wilkes leading in shot attempts 3-2.
The same applied to the final half of regulation, however, the Colonels expanded their shot advantage 9-4.
William Paterson broke through 26 seconds into extra time to send Wilkes home with the defeat.

Hannah Landis (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) made four saves in goal.
The Colonels led in total shot attempts 12-7, but the Pioneers found the target at a higher clip at 5-2. Wilkes also had an advantage in corner kicks 6-3.
The Colonels return to the pitch on Saturday when they travel to Rutgers-Newark for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference game.
