Wilkes Women's Cross Country Places Second Hosting Blue & Gold Invitational; Elsesser Seventh
FORTY FORT – The Wilkes University women's cross country team placed second overall out of five teams hosting the inaugural Blue & Gold Invitational at the Forty Fort Sports Complex early Friday evening. First year runner
Ali Elsesser (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) finished seventh overall in the 6k which featured 58 runners from 12 different schools.

The Colonels earned 53 team points from its five scoring runners to place second out of the five teams that fielded at least five runners. Misericordia University placed first with 28 points.
Elsesser finished seventh overall with a time of 25:59.70. Junior
Abby Kuppinger (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) placed 14th overall with a time of 27:08.70 and she was followed by first year
Emily Satnowski (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) in 17th with a time of 27:43.20.
Sophomore
Courtney Negra (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) was 18th, finishing in 27:45.80 and sophomore
Regan Metz (Berwick, PA/Berwick) rounded out the Colonels to score by placing 20th with a time of 27:54.80.
Junior
Mia Hensil (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) was 25th overall with a time of 29:19.70 and first year
Ashley Tomassacci (Jackson, PA/Blue Ridge) was 30th place with a 29:40.80.
Zoe Tomko of King's College placed first overall with a time of 24:05.50. The top three teams earned a plaque at the inaugural event and the top 20 runners earned an award. Lycoming College was third with 62 points.
Wilkes returns to the course next Friday at the LVC Last Chance Run Fast at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon, Pa. at 4:30 p.m.
