Wilkes Men's Swimming Eighth after Sessions II and III of Diamond City Invitational
WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team is in eighth place out of 10 teams following Sessions III and III of the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the Wyoming Valley CYC on Saturday.

In the morning session Saturday the Colonels placed eighth of nine A Team in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:39.38.
Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot),
Liam White (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas),
Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), and
Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) earned Wilkes 44 team points in the race.
Verosko placed eighth of 17 swimmers to earn 22 team points in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.50.
Damian Jenkins (Archbald, PA/Valley View) was 14th in the race to earn 13 more points.
In the 500 Freestyle, Miller placed 14th of 20 swimmers to earn Wilkes 13 points and White was 17th to add nine more points.
Dainty was 25th and
Rodrigo Luis Gabriel (Poughkeepsie, NY/Poughkeepsie) 34th of 40 swimmers in the 50 Freestyle.
In the evening session, Miller was 14th (13 points) with a 57.86 in the 100 Butterfly out of 25 swimmers. Verosko was 15th (12 points) with a 57.92 and Dainty was 18th (seven points) with a 59.98.
White placed 15th of 22 swimmers in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:05.75 to earn 12 points.
In the 100 Breaststroke Luis Gabriel was 16th of 21 participants to earn 11 points. Jenkins was ninth of 12 swimmers in the 100 Backstroke to earn 20 points.
To close the night the 800 Freestyle Relay team of Miller, Dainty, Verosko, and White placed seventh of eight teams to score 46 points with a time of 8:08.29.
Wilkes stands in eighth of 10 teams with 290 total points after three of four sessions. Bridgewater College is in first place with 936 points.
The Colonels return to the pool for Session IV at 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
