Wilkes Men's Swimming Places Eighth at Diamond City Invitational
WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team finished eighth place of 10 teams at the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's College at the Wyoming Valley CYC following Session IV on Sunday morning.

Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) placed sixth of 12 swimmers in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:14.73 to earn Wilkes 24 team points.
Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) scored three team points for the Colonels in the 100 Freestyle with a 22nd place finish out of 37 swimmers with a time of 54.08.
Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) was 25th with a 55.27,
Damian Jenkins (Archbald, PA/Valley View) was 29th with a 57.78 and
Rodrigo Luis Gabriel (Poughkeepsie, NY/Poughkeepsie) was 32nd with a 1:03.26.
The three-day meet ended with the 400 Freestyle Relay where the team of Verosko,
Liam White (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas), Miller, and Dainty placed eighth of the nine A Teams with a time of 3:40.80 to earn 44 points.
Wilkes finished eighth of 10 teams with 361 total points across the four sessions. Bridgewater College placed first 1,228 points and Hood College took second with 1,071.5 points.
The Colonels return to the pool for a home dual meet against Gallaudet University on Saturday, December 3 at the Wyoming Valley CYC at 1:00 p.m.
