Offensive Push Helps Wilkes Men's Basketball Roll Over Lebanon Valley 

WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University men's basketball team scored their most points on the season as they rolled over Lebanon Valley College 97-56 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon in the Marts Center. 

Wilkes would secure their third straight victory and go 5-3 on the year while Lebanon Valley would drop to 2-5 on the season.  

The Colonels would jump out to an early lead as they took two Flying Dutchmen turnovers into points, with Drake Marshall (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) making a three and Trent Fisher (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) scoring in the paint to give Wilkes a 5-0 lead with only a minute into the game, a lead which they would not surrender throughout the contest. 

Wilkes would shoot 43.33 percent from the field in the first half, while making 7-20 shots from beyond the arc. Jack Argento (Hershey, PA/Hershey), Cayden Merrifield (Scranton, PA/West Scranton), Joey Zvorsky (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) and Matthew Prociak all hit three's in the first period as the Colonels would go into the first half up 39-25. 

The Colonels would find their momentum in the second as Matthew Davidheiser (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) would hit two three's in the beginning of the second half as Wilkes would be up 53-36. The Colonels would make 9-10 three pointers from the beginning of the period to the 7:34 mark of the game, as they ended the second period 10-17 from beyond the arc. Lucas Lesko (Northampton, PA/Northampton) and Nickerson Demelfi would both make threes as players would rotate to get in the game. Colin Ackerman (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township), Elias Walker (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham), and Jason Eberhart (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) would all score near the end of the game as Wilkes would cruise to a 97-56 victory. 

Wilkes would shoot 48.4% from the field (31-64) while making 17 of their 37 three-point shots (45.9%) in the game/ Lebanon Valley would make 17-47 shots (36.2%) from the field, going 6-24 from beyond the arc. 

Marshall would lead the Colonels with 18 points, as he went 4-5 from three, while grabbing three rebounds and three assists. Davidheiser followed behind with 14 points, with Argento and Merrifield scoring in double digits with 12 and 10 points respectively. Prociak had five rebounds on the day, earning seven points during the contest. Jason Eberhart (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) had four rebounds, with Merrifield leading in assists with six. 

Wilkes would go on the road Wednesday as they travel to DeSales University for Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) action at 6:00 p.m.
