Wilkes Men's Swimming Sticks 11th After Day 3 of MAC Championships
YORK, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team completed day three action at the 2022 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Saturday at the Graham Aquatic Center, staying in 11th of 14 teams with 216 points.

Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship) qualified for the B Final in the 100 Breaststroke during the prelims as he set a personal record with a time of 1:00.80 beating his previous mark of 1:01.28 that he set at the 2020 MAC Championships. The time was within one second of the program record of 59.98 held by Jeff Mastrantuono. He was 10th of 44 swimmers. In the B Final Harloff placed seventh and 15th overall in the event to earn Wilkes 12 points. He finished with a time of 1:01.41.
Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) qualified for the C Final in the 200 Butterfly with a time of season best time of 2:15.35 in the prelims. He bettered that time by over two seconds in the C Final race with a 2:13.25. He placed third in the race and 19th overall in the field to earn the Colonels five points.
Jared Weyandt (Reading, PA/Exeter Township Senior) missed out on qualifying for the 100 Breaststroke Finals but set a season best time by over three seconds with a 1:04.36.
Daniel Micozzi (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) also improved upon his season best time in the event by over a second with a 1:08.21.
To close the night session, the Colonels 800 Freestyle relay team of Harloff, Weyandt, Micozzi, and
Keith Nissen (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) placed 11th of 13 teams with a time of 7:43.02 to beat the Colonels seed time by 15 seconds. The swim earned Wilkes 38 points.
The Colonels will return to the pool tomorrow for the final day with the Sunday Prelims starting at 10:00 a.m. and the Finals at 6:00 p.m.
