Wilkes Men's Swimming Places 11th at 2022 MAC Championships
YORK, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team placed 11th out of 14 teams at the 2022 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center following day four action on Sunday. The Colonels earned 266 team points.

Liam White (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) recorded a season best time of 19:28.15 to earn four team points in the 1650 Freestyle.
Jared Weyandt (Reading, PA/Exeter Township Senior) missed out on qualifying for the 100 Freestyle finals but swam a season best time of 50.45 to place in a field of 51 swimmers.
Keith Nissen (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) and
Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) did the same in the 100 Freestyle prelims with a 52.52 and 53.31 respectively.
Daniel Micozzi (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) beat his season best time by over three seconds in the 200 Breaststroke as he came to the wall in 2:30.88 but was unable to transfer to the finals.
The Colonels closed out the event with two teams racing in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The "A" team of
Trey Harloff (Apex, NC/Apex Friendship), Weyandt, Nissen, and Verosko finished 11th of 14 teams to earn 38 points. They had a time of 3:24.65. The "B" team of
Chris Gowarty (Scranton, PA/West Scranton),
Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), Micozzi, and White placed 11th of 12 teams with a time of 3:48.95 to earn eight points.
Stevens Institute of Technology won the team title with 1,480.5 points. Widener University placed second with 1,022 points and Arcadia University took third with 979.5 points.
Stevens sophomore Ali Kolenovic was named the 2022 David B. Eavenson Award winner as the MAC Men's Swimmer of the Year after scoring 96 individual points, two NCAA B cut and two MAC championship records.
Stevens first year Edward Platonov was named the 2022 MAC Men's Swimming Rookie of the Year after recording 96 individual points and breaking a MAC overall and championship records.
Stevens head coach Adam Schneider was named the 2022 MAC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year.
