FLEETWOOD, PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team opened the 2022 spring season finishing in third place in a tri-match with King's College and Hood College on Sunday afternoon at Golden Oaks Golf Club.
 
Wilkes finished with a team score of 403 while King's finished second at 376 and Hood took home first place with a score of 374.
 
Sarah Sorber (Hunlock Creek, PA/Northwest Area) led all Colonels scorers carding an 89, good for fourth overall in the match. Gwen MacConnell (Great Bend, PA/Blue Ridge) followed posting a 92 while Cassidy Taylor (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) (108) and Marissa Korea (Duryea, PA/Pittston Area) (114) rounded out the finishers for Wilkes.
 
King's Evie Williams and Hood's Maryemma Guldi tied for medalist honors both carding a round-low 86 on the Par 72 course.
 
Wilkes is back in action Saturday, April 2^nd when the Colonels host King's in a dual match at Stone Hedge Golf Course at 12:00 p.m.
