Wilkes Men's Golf Finishes Third after Day One of Glenmaura Invitational
MOOSIC, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team concluded a shortened day one at the Glenmaura Invitational finishing in third place among six teams.
Round one was called after nine holes due to the cold weather in the region. The Colonels shot a combined 167 on the day. Moravian led the team standings with a 161 while Misericordia finished three strokes ahead of Wilkes with a 164. Host Scranton (169), King's (177) and Marywood (178) rounded out the six-team event.
Max Cocchi (Ludlow, MA/Tilton School) topped all Colonels in round one firing in a 40 (+5).
Andrew Finke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford Twp.) followed carding a 41 (+6) while
Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) and
Trevor DuBoff (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) each finished with a 43 (+8) over the first nine holes.
Michael Sherrick (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area) rounded out the competitors with a 49 (+14).
Ethan Zawatski of Misericordia shot the low score of the day with an even par 35 on the front.
The event will finish tomorrow where round two (18 holes) will be played starting at 9:00 a.m.
