Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Drops Contest against Misericordia
EDWARDSVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University Colonels hosted the Misericordia Cougars for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom women's lacrosse matchup at Schmidt Stadium Wednesday evening.
The Colonels (3-10, 1-5) fell 16-5 in a game they never held a lead over the Cougars (8-5, 4-1) in. Misericordia led 8-3 at half, and a 6-1 third quarter put the matchup squarely in their favor.
Maleah Cobham (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke) and
Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) each had two goals for the Colonels, while
Laura Bayzick (Hazleton, PA/Hazleton Area) had one goal.
Ashley Coughlin (Northampton, PA/Northampton) recorded a career-high 15 saves in a losing effort. Eight different Cougars recorded goals in the victory.
The Colonels host Stevens in their 2022 home finale at Schmidt Stadium Saturday. First draw is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in a live stats era series the Ducks lead 2-0.
