DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team finished in fourth place of nine teams finishing round two at the 2022 MAC Freedom Men's Golf Championships hosted at Huntsville Golf Club Sunday afternoon.
 
Wilkes shot a two-day total of 672 carding a 337 on day one followed by a 335 on day two. Stevens Institute of Technology took home its second straight MAC Freedom title posting a score of 587. Arcadia University finished second at 636 while Misericordia University took home third place at 668.
 
Michael Sherrick (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area) led all Colonels scorers finishing in 12^th place for a two-day total of 162. Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) followed in 13^th place and was named a Co-Rookie of the Year tying with Ethan Saxe of Delaware Valley University as the highest-placed first-year players in the tournament.
 
Max Cocchi (Ludlow, MA/Tilton School) took home 21^st place with a score of 172 while Andrew Finke (West Milford, NJ/West Milford Twp.) (173, 23^rd) and Trevor DuBoff (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) (187, 37^th) rounded out the Wilkes competitors.
 
Gus Vickers of Stevens was named MAC Freedom Golfer of the Year shooting the lowest score of the tournament at 141 including a career-best 66 on round two (-6).
 
Up next the Colonels host the University of Scranton Tuesday at Huntsville at 1:00 p.m.
