Stevens Wins MAC Freedom Championship Over Wilkes Men's Tennis 5-0
EDGEWATER, NJ – The #2 Wilkes University men's tennis team saw its season come to an end Saturday as the Colonels fell 5-0 against #1 Stevens Institute of Technology in the MAC Freedom championship match at Binghamton Raquet Club.
Wilkes concluded its season with a 10-8 overall record. Stevens earned its second consecutive MAC Freedom crown improving to 13-4 overall and advancing to the NCAA Tournament next week.
The Ducks raced out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles flights by scores of 8-3 at No. 1 and No. 2 and 8-0 at No. 3.
Stevens then used 6-0, 6-0 straight set victories at No. 4 and No. 6 singles to clinch the match.
