Wilkes Men's Golf Splits Tri-Match with King's and Lycoming
WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team continued their fall campaign with a tri-match hosted by King's College along with Lycoming College at Wyoming Valley Country Club Wednesday afternoon.
The Colonels shot a combined 346 finishing second at the event. Host King's notched first place with a score of 323 while Lycoming took home third place with a score of 399.
Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson) continued his fine play on the course carding a team-low 79.
Matthew Carlson (Delmar, NY/Albany Academy) followed with an 87 while Trevor Duboff shot an 88.
Sam Hopkins (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) (92) and
Brennan Reiner (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) (93) rounded out the Wilkes scorers.
Tyler Faux topped all finishers with a round-low 75.
Wilkes returns to the course Saturday with a match at local rival Misericordia University at 1:00 p.m. at Irem Country Club.
