Dainty Wins 100 Yard Backstroke as Wilkes Men's Swimming Faces Moravian and Lycoming
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) finished won in the 100 Yard Backstroke as the Wilkes University men's swimming team competed against host Lycoming College and Moravian University on Saturday afternoon. Wilkes won against Moravian 79-40, but Lycoming was able to defeat the Colonels 91-57.

Dainty was able to edge out Lycoming's swimmers as he finished with a 1:00.10 time against two Warriors.
The Colonels placed second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay as the team of Dainty, Liam White (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas), Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), and Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) finished with a 1:52.54 time.
Verosko finished the 200 Yard IM with a 2:21.16 time, placing him second of four swimmers.
Miller finished second of three swimmers as he recorded a 5:40.08 in the 500 Yard Freestyle.
With two disqualifications, Damian Jenkins (Archbald, PA/Valley View) placed second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:32.92.
Wilkes improves to 2-10 on the season.
The Colonels will return home on Saturday, January 28 at 1:00 p.m. as they host town rival King's College as Wilkes will be honoring their seniors on Senior Day.
