Wilkes Men's Swimming: Messiah Tri-Meet Results
GRANTHAM, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team competed in a tri-meet with host Messiah University and Division I Mount Saint Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon. The Colonels dropped its contest to Messiah 168-49 and its exhibition to Mount Saint Mary's 219-28.

The Colonels 200 Medley Relay team of
Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton),
John Evans (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Holy Redeemer),
Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot), and
Luke Donato (Westerly, RI/Westerly) finished with a time of 1:51.71 to open the meet. To close the meet the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Dainty, Donato, Evans, and
Mason McCoy (Essington, PA/Interboro) finished with a swim of 1:40.91.
Across the 12 individual events the Colonels competed against strong competition. Dainty's sixth place effort in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:00.33 saw him beat one Messiah swimmer and place sixth overall. He also finished ahead of one Messiah swimmer in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:17.23.
Ben Carro (Berwick, PA/Berwick Area) and
Kirkland Matlock (Carrollton, TX/Newman Smith) both took to the pool today as well for the Colonels.
Wilkes is now 1-2 overall on the season.
Wilkes is back in action next Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Scranton, Pa. for a dual meet with Marywood University.
