Wilkes Women's Volleyball Concludes Season with Split at Ramapo Tri-Match
MAHWAH, NJ – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team concluded its 2023 season with a split at the Ramapo College tri-match on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels posted a 3-1 victory over St. Joseph's Long Island before falling 3-1 to host Ramapo.
Wilkes finished the 2023 season with a 10-20 overall record, going 1-8 in its first season as a member of the Landmark Conference.
In the win against St. Joseph's (LI), Wilkes took the match by scores of 25-16, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-18.
Nicole Fitzpatrick (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley),
Alexis Reedy (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra Area) and
Sierra Hines (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Holy Redeemer) led the attack combining for 32 of the Colonels 46 kills in the win.
Alexa Cassel (Mount Joy, PA/Lower Dauphin) paced the passing game with 31 assists while
Ali Yordy (Fairfield, PA/Fairfield Area) topped the squad with 16 digs from the backline.
Ramapo took match two of the day besting the Colonels 25-14, 22-25, 25-7 and 25-20.
Hope Ousey (Exton, PA/Henderson) recorded a team-best six kills while Hines, Reedy and Fitzpatrick each added five kills. Cassel finished with 22 assists while Yordy posted 11 digs.
Wilkes will return to the court next fall embarking on its second season in the Landmark Conference.
