TOWSON, MD – Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) picked up two individual victories, but host Goucher College defeated the Wilkes University women's swimming team 109-46 Saturday afternoon at the von Borries Aquatic Center.

Wilkes dropped to 2-4 overall this season with the loss.

Burlew won the 50 Freestyle over four swimmers with a time of 27.05. Her teammates Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian) and Mina Tutko (Easton, PA/Easton Area) took second and third place in the race as the Colonels scored 15 of the 17 possible points.

Burlew also took nine points and the win in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:54.93 as she defeated two Gopher swimmers.

To start the meet the Colonels 200 Medley Relay team of Audrey Cornell (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights), Tutko, Ullerich, and Burlew placed second of three teams with a time of 2:12.04 to earn four team points.

The Colonels return to the Wyoming Valley CYC next Saturday to host a tri-meet with Stevenson University and cross-town rival King's College at 1:00 p.m.
