YORK, PA – Wilkes University women's swimming senior Maddy Kinard (Dover, PA/Dover Area) broke her own school record in the 200 Backstroke on the final day of competition at the 2023 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center on Sunday.

In the night session C Final of the 200 Backstroke Kinard swam a blistering 2:17.95 to break her school record of 2:19.49 and in doing so won the race against the other seven swimmers in her final. Officially Kinard took 17th place in the event to earn nine team points but her time among the A, B, and C finals was 12th fastest of the 24 swimmers.

Kinard earned her way into the C Final during the Sunday morning prelims of the 200 Backstroke where she placed 18th of 36 swimmers with a time of 2:21.19.

The senior earned 24 total team points at the 2023 MAC Championships and closes out a terrific career for the Colonels.
