Wilkes Men's Swimming Opens 2023 MAC Championships Thursday
YORK, PA – The Wilkes University men's swimming team began the 2023 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa. on Thursday. The team earned 34 points on day one.

The Colonels four swimmers were unable to advance to the night session finals in the individual events.
In the preliminaries
Shane Miller (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) and
Liam White (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) competed in the 500 Freestyle. Miller finished with a time of 5:33.48 and White with a time of 5:38.13.
Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) placed 30th in a field of 40 swimmers in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.29.
Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) was 41st of 57 swimmers in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.79.
In the night session finals the Colonels 200 Medley Relay team of Dainty, White, Miller, and Verosko placed 13th of the 14 A teams to earn 34 team points. They finished the race in 1:47.99 to beat their seed time by nearly two seconds.
The Colonels men will be back in action tomorrow morning with the prelims of the 400 IM and 100 Butterfly starting at 9:30 a.m. The night session at 5:30 p.m. will feature the 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Medley Relay.
Maddy Kinard will make her MAC Championships debut for the Wilkes women's swimming team tomorrow in the prelims of the 100 Butterfly.
