LEHMAN, PA – Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson) fired in a round-low 81 (+9) to lead the Wilkes University men's golf team to a 343-366 victory over Misericordia University in both teams' spring opener Sunday afternoon at Huntsville Golf Club.
 
Jungwirth was joined by three other Colonels who finished in the top five. Max Cocchi (Ludlow, MA/Tilton School) finished third shooting an 85 (+13) while Sam Hopkins (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) carded an 88 (+16) for fourth place. Matthew Carlson (Delmar, NY/Albany Academy) posted an 89 (+17) to claim fifth place overall.
 
Trevor DuBoff (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) rounded out the Colonels participants shooting a 96 on the Par 72 course. Brett Herman led all Misericordia scorers with an 82 (+10).
 
Wilkes is back on the course Thursday when the two squads meet again along with King's College in a tri-match at the Irem Country Club at 1:00 p.m.
