Wilkes Men's Golf Takes Third at Scranton Quad Match
MOOSIC, PA – The Wilkes University men's golf team finished in third place at the University of Scranton quad match Wednesday afternoon at Glenmaura National Golf Club.
The Colonels finished with a team score of 326. Host Scranton took home first place with a score of 290 while King's College claimed second place at 324, just two strokes ahead of Wilkes. Misericordia University rounded out the finishers in fourth place with a score of 342.
Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson) continued his fine play finishing third overall carding a two-over 73 on the day.
Trevor DuBoff (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) finished tied for eighth with a score of 82.
Max Cocchi (Ludlow, MA/Tilton School) came in 13
th place shooting an 84 while
Matthew Carlson (Delmar, NY/Albany Academy) came in right behind Cocchi with an 87 good for 14
th place.
Sam Hopkins (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) rounded out the Colonel finishers in 19
th place with a score of 101.
Scranton claimed the top two individual spots including medialst Danny Harding with a three-under 68.
Wilkes concludes its spring season on Monday with a home dual match against King's before playing in the 2023 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championships at Huntsville on April 22-23.
