Wilkes Women's Tennis Falls to Stevens in MAC Freedom Opener
KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team dropped 8-1 to the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks in their first Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) matchup of the season.
The Colonels fall to 1-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. The Ducks move to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in the MAC Freedom.
Stevens took all three of the doubles matches. The Ducks took the first singles win in the No. 1 spot, but the Colonels answered back after
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) claimed a singles victory in the No. 2 spot.
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) came close to a win in the No. 3 spot after winning the second set, however Stevens took the victory in the tie breaking set.
The Ducks went on to claim all but one of the six singles matches.
The Wilkes women's tennis team continues MAC Freedom play on Tuesday when they travel to Williamsport, Pa. to take on Lycoming College for a 3:30 p.m. start.
