TUNKHANNOCK, PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team opened its 2023 fall campaign finishing second at the Marywood University tri-match on Thursday afternoon held at Stone Hedge Golf Course.
 
The Colonels finished with a team score of 442. Marwyood took home first place with a score of 424 while Mt. Saint Mary's (NY) posted a score of 454 for third place.
 
Mollie Corbett (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area Jr./Sr.) led all Wilkes finishers carding a 101. Lauren Koval (Swoyersville, PA/Wyoming Valley West) shot a 109 while Isabelle Dahl (Athens, PA/Athens Area) (113) and Kylee Laudenslager (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) (119) rounded out the Wilkes scorers in the match.

The victory for the Colonels over Mt. Saint Mary's marked the first collegiate win for new head coach Jeff Lewis as mentor of the program.
 
Marywood's Emily Dowler and Mt. Saint Mary's Kaylee Poppo tied for the individual lead on the day each posting a round-low 93.
 
Wilkes returns to the course Sunday with its first home dual match of the season hosting King's College at 3:00 p.m. at Huntsville Golf Club.
