Cocchi, Jungwirth Lead Wilkes Men's Golf Over King's, Misericordia
WILKES-BARRE –
Max Cocchi (Ludlow, MA/Tilton School) fired in a round-low 78 (+8) on way to medalist honors to lead the Wilkes University men's golf team to a first place finish in a tri-match with host King's College and Misericordia University Tuesday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley Country Club.
The Colonels posted a 329 team score for first place. King's followed in second with a score of 342 while Misericordia claimed third with a score of 351.
Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson) was equally as impressive shooting a 79 on the day tied for second overall.
Trevor DuBoff (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) posted an 85 while
Matthew Carlson (Delmar, NY/Albany Academy) (87) and
Daniel Nau (Wake Forest, NC/Heritage) (87) rounded out the Colonel finishers.
Brett Herman led Misericordia tied with Jungwirth in second with a 79. JP Gilroy topped King's with an 84.
The Colonels are back in action Thursday, October 5 when the trio of teams meet again at Irem Golf Club at 1:00 p.m.
