Verosko Earns Win During Wilkes Men's Swimming Senior Day Tri-Meet Sweep of Lycoming and Juniata
WILKES-BARRE – Senior
Stephen Verosko (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) earned a victory in the 400 IM on Senior Day as the Wilkes University swimming team swam to a tri-meet sweep of visiting Lycoming College and Juniata College, fellow Landmark Conference members, on Saturday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley CYC. The Colonels defeated Lycoming 73-48 and Juniata 97-22.

Wilkes now stands at 8-5 overall this season after the tri-meet sweep and in the process set the program single-season record for most wins.
Verosko, the lone senior on the men's and women's swimming teams this season for the Colonels, earned his Senior Day victory in the 400 IM over teammate
Mason McCoy (Essington, PA/Interboro) as Verosko finished with a time of 4:52.71. He also placed third of six swimmers in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 57.13.
Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) earned a victory in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.42 to beat three other swimmers.
Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) defeated a swimmer from Juniata in the 200 Backstroke to earn Wilkes its third individual race victory of the day. He finished with a time of 2:19.08.
Luke Donato (Westerly, RI/Westerly) (200 Free), McCoy (500 Free), and
John Evans (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Holy Redeemer) (200 Breast) picked up second place finishes on the day.
Dainty, Evans, Donato, and Lewis opened the day with a time of 1:46.49 in the 200 Medley Relay and the team of Lewis, Dainty, Verosko, and Donato finished the meet with a time of 1:35.00 in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
The Colonels have their Alumni Meet next Saturday before returning to competition for the final meet before the Landmark Conference Championships against King's College on Saturday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. in a meet hosted by their cross-town rival.
